Agri Clinic and Agri Business Programe  ( ACABC)  - Transforming local practices and  Local Economy

VAPS has been actively involved in enhancing local farming practices and providing extension services through the Agriclinic and Agri Business Scheme (ACABC). Over the past two decades, VAPS has been instrumental in imparting various technical skills and facilitating technology transfer to promote better farming methods. With the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and in collaboration with MANAGE (National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management), VAPS has consistently conducted Agri clinic and Agribusiness programs in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

VAPS's  ACABC initiatives focus on several key areas, including organic farming practices, expert services and advice for local farmers regarding cropping practices, technology dissemination, and clinical services for animal health. The achievements and highlights of VAPS's efforts in this domain include the implementation of 99 batches of ACABC programs, the establishment of 3,000 Agripreneurs who have launched their own agricultural ventures and provided advisory services to local farmers.

A noteworthy aspect is the successful transformation of women from rural areas into Agripreneurs who actively promote local farming. VAPS has been recognized as one of the best Nodal Training  Agencies for the ACABC program, and nine  Agripreneurs associated with VAPS have received NATIONAL AWARDS in 2023. The organization has played a significant role in empowering women to emerge as leaders in the field of agriculture.

Through its initiatives, VAPS has contributed to the scaling up of self-employment and employment opportunities in the agricultural sector in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Furthermore, VAPS has facilitated the adoption of improved organic farming and enterprise practices, fostering sustainable agricultural development in the region
