Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers - DAESI
Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers – DAESI
DAESI, which stands for Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers, focuses on enhancing the knowledge and capabilities of input dealers to provide better advice on cropping techniques and improved cultivation. VAPS in association with MANAGE (National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management) in Hyderabad, targets agriculture input dealers who typically lack technical expertise in recommending appropriate input dosages to farmers. Recognizing the close interaction between input dealers and farmers, the government has decided to educate them on fundamental technical knowledge, which ultimately benefits the farmers.
The one-year DAESI Diploma course covers various aspects relevant to input dealers, including soil health, soil testing, different types of soil, common pests and diseases affecting crops, fertilizer recommendations, deficiencies of micronutrients in fertilized crops, and climate conditions. Additionally, input dealers learn about important regulations such as the Seeds Act, Fertilizer Control Order, and Insecticides Act through interactions with agricultural department officials. Upon completion of the course, input dealers become eligible to obtain a fresh agricultural input training license issued by government authorities across India.
VAPS (name of an organization) has been recognized as an approved Nodal training Institute by MANAGE, Hyderabad. Several agricultural input dealers in Madurai, Theni and Trichy centers have successfully obtained their DAESI diploma certificates and continue their business operations. Now, the Tamilnadu Government's Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has approved VAPS as the Nodal training institute to conduct the DAESI course for the 2023-2024 year. Classes for the course are scheduled to commence from July 2023 onwards.
